Wake up! It’s Monday Morning and you need these leadership quotes. Your organization is calling on you to lead them to the promise land. You have before you the unique opportunity to directly dictate the outcomes of this week. Today is the time to commit yourself to being the best leader your organization has ever seen. You alone will be in control of this weeks story. How will it go down in history?
Last week I posted a video by Leaders Beacon featuring 7 leadership quotes. I don’t usually repeat my Motivational Mondays but this week I’m making an exception. Last week’s quotes were so powerful I just had to do it again, at least for myself. Each day I read one of the leadership quotes and focused on making it a priority to achieve that quote within my organization. This is what leadership is. You take the resources around you and apply them to make your team better. Constant growth is a good leadership quality that every leader should be implementing in their own life.
In addition to reading and implementing these leadership quotes, I encourage you to go back and read my 6 traits of a good leader post. To get ahead of the game, choose one quote and one trait. Then set out on a course of relentless implementation. Here are the quotes written out for this week.
Vision – “Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.” – Warren G. Bennis
Diverse – “The leader has to be practical and a realist, yet must talk the language of the visionary and the idealist.” – Eric Hoffer
Helping – “Good leadership consists of showing average people how to do the work of superior people.” – John D. Rockefeller
Servant – “Good leaders must first become good servants.” – Robert Greenleaf
Courage – “Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
Lead – “Lead and inspire people. Don’t try to manage and manipulate people. Inventories can be managed but people must be led.” – Ross Perot
Inspire – “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” – John Quincy Adams
This is a short one minute video I suggest you watch each day. Go ahead and bookmark it so you can open it up first thing when you get to your desk. If you can’t commit 1 minute a day to becoming a better leader, you aren’t a very good leader.
If you’re really brave, you should purchase this book. The Maxwell Daily Reader, I read it every single day. I have a habit of reading the Bible, then The Daily Maxwell Reader, then I pray. After I’ve gotten myself right, I’m ready to lead others.
This week is the time to focus on these characteristics that were described in the leadership quotes: Vision, Diversity, Helping Heart, Servant’s Heart, Courage, Leadership, and Inspiration. Don’t forget to check out the 6 traits of a good leader as well.
Are you doing everything you can to develop the leader with you?
